On October 11, 2011, a historic milestone was reached, unanimously approving Renaissance Downtowns’ redevelopment plan for downtown Bristol. This momentous occasion has set the stage for Bristol to witness its transformation into one of Connecticut’s most vibrant and exciting downtowns!
The benefits of Bristol's downtown revitalization will extend to the entire community by affording significant job growth and economic development opportunities while increasing the local tax base. In addition, residents of and visitors to Bristol will enjoy a downtown amenity that will represent a true regional destination. The revitalization effort will capitalize on regional and national trends that demonstrate a strong market desire for a return to downtown living, especially in smaller, boutique cities such as Bristol.
The Public-Private Partnership between Renaissance and the City has reached out to community stakeholders to ensure a transparent and inclusionary process was conducted in a manner that fostered dialogue with the community to ensure a revitalization effort that is the pride of all Bristol residents. These efforts included the ability for community members to participate in committees as well as an innovative, first of its kind Crowdsourced placemaking program that will provide a means to create meaningful dialogue between the development team and Bristol residents who may wish to live in, work in or visit a reinvented downtown Bristol. We at Renaissance are proud to have become an active member of your community and look forward to working hand in hand with our City partners to provide for a better future for all Bristol residents. Renaissance thanks the City of Bristol and all its residents for their support and involvement during these formative months.
